Fabrice Maze, FR 2007, 90’, F/e
Realised in connection with a retrospective at the Musée des Beaux Arts de Quimper, this film portrait is dedicated to Yves Tanguy, an early Surrealist who was in the inner circle of the Surrealist avant-garde from the 1920s to the 1940s. Fabrice Maze’s film is a masterpiece of French portrait art. The extensively used archive material includes exceedingly rare film clips from the estate of the Basel Surrealist Kurt Seligman.
